Does the boiling water not kill the vitamins?

Boiling water doesn’t kill vitamins or minerals, it degrades them over time. All our teas have been independently tested, and over 10 minutes of brewing, the vitamins were shown to degrade slightly. Based off this research, we then add extra vitamins into each bag to make sure we meet the claims we make and all have been EU certified.

Do your teas contain caffeine?

Our teas contain a very small amount of caffeine. We choose a low caffeine green tea and only about 50% of the tea bag contains that green tea. On average, our teas contain around 12 - 15mg caffeine per cup, that is in comparison to around 40mg in a cup of English breakfast tea or around 70mg in a cup of coffee. Its as low as we can get the caffeine content whilst having the benefits of the green tea.

Are your tea bags bleached/organic?

The tea cannot be labelled organic due to the vitamins. Our tea bags are 100% free from any chlorine. They are Oxygen bleached to give the white colour but the process is 100% natural and 100% free from chemicals.

Are your teas suitable for diabetics?

There’s less than 0.5g (substantially less than this) of sugar per tea bag therefore it's a very, very low sugar drink.

Are your teas safe to drink whilst pregnant/breastfeeding?

The recommended limit of caffeine for pregnant and breastfeeding women is 200mg per day. Our teas have between 12-15mg of caffeine per cup so they are very low caffeine and substantially less than tea or coffee. Most of the energy that is given out from our teas come from the B vitamins rather than caffeine.

Do your teabags contain any plastic?

We’re proud to say our tea bags are polypropylene free.

Your teas say they contain Mannitol, are they not suitable for gluten intolerance?

Our teas do contain Mannitol as part of a binding agent in the B vitamins we use, which is a completely natural source, but does contain a wheat derivative. However, our teas are categorised as gluten free under EU regulation. The content of the wheat is in such a small quantity that it is below 20 PPM (parts per million) which constitutes safe for those following a gluten free diet and coeliacs. As we are compliant with gluten free rules we are not obliged to state the mannitol but we do declare it on our boxes regardless, to make people aware at the point of purchase.

Are your teas suitable for vegans/vegetarians?

The granulated form of Vitamin D that we use is sourced from Lanolin, so unfortunately our TEA+ Vitamin D and TEA+ Defence blends are not suitable for vegans.

WHY IT WORKS...

Vitamin B12

Vitamin B12 contributes to the reduction of tiredness and fatigue as well as to normal energy-yielding metabolism which is needed for all functions and activities of the body, including physical activity and exercise. It’s also essential for the development and normal functioning of the brain and nervous system, particularly those aspects which determine concentration, learning, memory and reasoning.

Vitamin D

Vitamin D is often referred to as the sunshine vitamin, as the body creates it from direct sunlight exposure to the skin. Therefore, those in less sunny countries should supplement vitamin D. It is a vital nutrient, which helps regulate the amount of calcium and phosphate in the body, both of which are needed to keep bones, teeth and muscles healthy.

Yerba mate

Yerba mate is a traditional South American drink, made from the dried leaves of a native plant and is drunk by millions around the world as an alternative to tea or coffee. It’s well known for its gentle energy release, but without many of the negative side effects of other drinks such as coffee.

Vitamin B6

Vitamin B6 is another nutrient that helps with the reduction of tiredness and fatigue. It also helps by contributing to normal psychological functions and supporting energy production. Vitamin B6 has a vital role in helping make haemoglobin, which helps carry oxygen throughout the body’s cells. Without this oxygen, the body is left tired and weak.
