When signing up, you input your stats (age, gender, height, weight and activity level) and MFP calculates your TDEE (Total Daily Energy Expenditure). If you set it to lose or gain weight, it calculates how many calories you need to eat every day to achieve your goals. Although a premium option is available, you have access to all the necessary features for free.
