Selenium, Biotin and Milk Thistle: A tea for your hair, skin and nails
If you’ve been keeping an eye on our socials over the last few days, you will know that one of our best-loved teas has been through a bit of a transformation. TEA+ Cleanse has had a glow-up and become TEA+ Beauty.
But rest assured, its new name and pretty colour of the packaging are the only things that have had a makeover. Containing Selenium, Biotin and Milk Thistle, our tea is still the drink of choice if you’re looking for a delicious and convenient way to take vitamins for the maintenance of your hair, skin and nails.
How does it work?
To understand why TEA+ Beauty is scientifically proven to aid maintenance of healthy hair, skin and nails, we should look closer at the vitamins and minerals infused into every teabag.
Selenium
Our hair and nails are made from a tough protein called Keratin, but the visible parts of these tissues actually consist of dead cells, hence why it doesn’t hurt to have a haircut and file your nails. Selenium is needed for the non-visible living tissue at the base of your hair follicles and nail beds. It encourages strength and growth by killing off unstable atoms that would otherwise damage the cells. Think of Selenium as a superhero who protects your hair, skin and nails against rogue atoms intent on destroying them.
Milk Thistle
If Selenium is a superhero, then Milk Thistle is the underrated sidekick, just as responsible for saving the day, but with far less credit. Milk Thistle soothes and hydrates your skin, giving you a clear and healthy glow, and proving that beauty really does radiate from within. Silymarin, an extract of Milk Thistle, is also known to strengthen hair follicles and minimise hair loss.
Biotin
Known also as Vitamin H, Biotin has anecdotal benefits that include hair growth and stronger nails. It also plays a part in digestion, as it helps convert the foods you eat into energy.
Vitamin C
You probably know how crucial Vitamin C is for the support of a healthy immune system, but were you aware that it is actually really beneficial to your skin? Slowly becoming famous for its collagen boosting properties, Vitamin C is a key anti-ageing skin care ingredient that helps protect your skin against free radical damage caused by the environment.
Why change the name?
After exploring the concept of New Beauty this month on our social media platforms, we felt that the name Beauty better suited our tea. We have looked at many definitions of beauty over the past few weeks, our favourite, perhaps, by Golda Poretsky, who says:
“Real beauty, the interesting, truly pleasing kind, is about honouring the beauty within you.”
As our tea encourages self-care and contains a collection of amazing vitamins and minerals that promote healthy hair, skin and nails, a cup of TEA+ Beauty is the perfect way to honour and nourish the beauty within you.
Why should I drink it?
Your hair, skin and nails are important parts of your body that shouldn’t be neglected. Consuming the vitamins and minerals previously discussed will support their health, growth and strength, making you feel confident and encouraging your beauty to radiate from within. A cup of TEA+ is the soothing and delicious addition to your beauty routine that you are looking for.
