🌿 CBD TEA? TELL ME MORE... | TEA+ - TEA+

EVERYTHING YOU NEED TO KNOW BEFORE YOU TRY OUR CBD INFUSED TEA! 🌿

Wednesday 12th February 2020, we introduced our TEA+ CBD Infused Tea and it's been a hit! We've had a lot of questions regarding this new and experimental tea so we've put together the most asked questions. Have a read if you're at all hesitant about trying CBD for the first time and if any of your questions aren't answered here, leave a comment or send us an email and we'll do our best to answer them.

We're very excited about our newest TEA+ blend, it's naturally caffeine-free as it has a Rooibos tea base with delicious natural fruit flavours, apple and baobab and the most important part - full-spectrum CBD. It is Gluten, Sugar and Caffeine-free, suitable for Vegans/Vegetarian and free from artificial colours and flavouring. Each CBD infused teabag contains 3mg of 100% bioavailable CBD.

Don't worry... if you're not CBD terminology savvy, this blog will explain it all.

What is CBD?
CBD (Scientific name - Cannabidiol) is a chemical (Cannabinoid) found in Cannabis Sativa Plants and is one of many, but CBD is the most popular one at the moment, being used and researched for its potential properties and health benefits.

Are CBD and Marijuana the same?
No, while they both come from Cannabis Sativa plants, CBD doesn’t come from the same strain that you get marijuana, it comes from Hemp. Hemp is a strain of Cannabis plant that contains a higher percentage of CBD and a much lower percentage of THC.

What is THC?
THC (tetrahydrocannabinol) is another cannabinoid found in the Cannabis plant that has psychoactive properties which give people the ‘high’.
Will having CBD get me ‘high’?
For CBD to be legal it must contain less than 0.2% THC meaning, CBD products sold in the UK contain such a small amount of THC that you will not get the psychoactive properties associated with it.

What is the difference between Hemp and CBD?
When comparing hemp vs. CBD, the key difference is that the two products come from different parts of the hemp plant. Hemp comes from the seeds, and CBD can be extracted from the stems and leaves. Hemp is unrefined whereas CBD is usually highly refined in order to get the most beneficial compounds of the plant.

Is CBD legal in the UK?
CBD products are legal to buy and sell in the UK, as long as they are derived from one of the EU-approved strains. To be legal for sale in the UK, CBD products must not contain more than 0.2% of the illegal and psychoactive compound, THC.

What is the endocannabinoid system?
The endocannabinoid system is involved with keeping the body in balance. Your body has to manage everything from mood, sleep patterns, appetite, pain, immune response and hormones. The endocannabinoid system is made up of millions of receptors throughout your body. These are primarily found in the brain and central nervous system (CB1 receptors) and your immune system (CB2 receptors). These receptors are responsible for passing messages along pathways to help regulate your body.

Is CBD addictive?
Dr Cidambi. Min An, a licenced pharmacist, added that "our body naturally produces CBD in the ECS to maintain balance when we encounter stress." In short, An said, "we can't become addicted to our own body's naturally produced compound."

Can I drive after having this tea?
Our tea has a very small amount of THC and high CBD. The THC level in our plant is in line with the legal limit allowed in the UK. So yes, it’s absolutely legal and safe to drive after having a cup as well as any other activities.

What is Full-spectrum CBD?
Full-spectrum means that an oil or product contains all the cannabinoids that are found in the cannabis plant in nature, rather than just CBD (Cannabidiol).
Full-spectrum products are associated with the “entourage effect”, with full-spectrum you are getting more than 100 different cannabinoids found in the hemp plant. There are several minor cannabinoids that can play an important role in the effectiveness of a CBD product.

What is bioavailability?
In short, bioavailability is the degree and rate at which a substance that is absorbed into the bloodstream.
Our CBD Tea contains 3mg CBD per cup, and our CBD has 100% bioavailability. This means that the whole 3mg is absorbed into your bloodstream.

If you have any medication you think could be affected by CBD, please contact your GP before trying! TEA+ CBD Infused Tea is not suitable for under 18's.
